In 'Toys and Chimeras', humans and objects do not follow typical roles of our reality, and often their characteristics blur together. I was extremely interested in humanity caught in a falsified existence; uncomfortable poses in yearbooks, mannequins, dolls, etc. These objects resemble humans, but no longer reflect humanity. Additionally, the objects in these paintings are toys, souvenirs, and cheap doo-dads that are typically cast off over time - they are disposable objects that have a character. By blending these two ideas I created a Chimera, a sentient entity with a spark of life.
